It is believed that the accountancy profession needs to be ready to adapt to these changes in order to stay relevant and deliver valuable services in a digital economy. Sensing the pulse with an upbeat mindset, the Digital Assurance and Accounting Board (DAAB\/Board) was established by the Council with the objective to serve the public interest, to contribute policy recommendations and to provide support towards embedding technology based solutions in accounting, assurance and other businesses. The Board has representation from all relevant stakeholders including accountants in profession\/industry, academia, IT\/Digitalization experts both from public and private sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Digital technology is transforming the business environment all across the globe and it has now become the heart and soul of most business operations, strategy, and risks. This is increasingly impacting on the audit and accountancy profession, presenting opportunities to increase the value offered to clients and businesses, but also raising long-term risks of reduced relevance or marginalization. Foreseeing this reality, the Board outlines how the profession needs to think about a technology-driven future, and how it needs to work together with IT and Technology Experts to achieve this in practice.<\/p>\n<p>The Board has kicked-off a series of activities including exclusive webinars on the future of the audit and accountancy profession in the digital world.
